APS Rakhmuthi celebrates Maj DS Pannu’s birthday

Army Public School (APS) Rakhmuthi celebrated its School Hero Maj. Devinderjit Singh Pannu’s birthday on Monday.
Major D.S Pannu of 5 SIKH Regiment laid down his life in a key battle for the defence of Chhamb on December 5, 1971 and was awarded the Vir Chakra (Posthumous) for this act of gallantry.
The special day was presided over by Col N.J.S Pannu (Retd.) brother of school Hero and Chairman of APS Rakhmuthi. The programme began with the candle lighting ceremony followed by a cultural bonanza showcased by students.
They presented mesmerising patriotic dances and songs which were thoroughly enjoyed and applauded immensely by one and all.
Col N.J.S Pannu awarded scholarships of Rs 10,000 each to three best students of school in session 2017-18- Anjali Kumari for securing highest marks in class XI A (Science Stream), Babita Bhau for class XI B (Commerce Stream) and Akhilesh Sharma for class X A for their exemplary achievement in academics and other fields.
Shaswati Ghosh-Principal APS Rakhmuthi expressed her words of gratitude to the guest, teachers and students engaged for the accomplishment of programme.
